Hey, remember when we had a five-game winning streak? That was fun. Seems a very long time ago now, doesn't it? The thrashing administered to the D-backs yesterday pretty much flushed the pleasing taste of last week out, the mood changing from "Well, we're still in this one," to "When's Opening Day 2013?" between the second and third outs of the sixth inning. Ian Kennedy imploded, and as so often before, we made a pitcher look a good deal better than he is, it requiring St. Penelope's intervention to end the perfect game in the sixth. All told, we couldn't hit and didn't pitch: not exactly a recipe for success.

Can Miley do any better? We certainly hope so. Line-up and stuff after the jump, including the word on Trevor Bauer's latest start. soco on the recap.

There might be a little less of a demand for Trevor Bauer's immediate promotion today. His start this afternoon went less than well, as he allowed ten hits and two walks in five innings, with only two strikeouts. Four earned runs resulted, including a two-run shot off the bat of Troy-boy, who was rehabbing. In his defense, the game was played at Colorado Springs, which is six thousand feet up: even with the humidor, not easy pitching there.
