The Diamondbacks have a chance of a sweep today. Know when the last time was that I wrote this? More than two months ago: to be precise, opening weekend, because that was the last (and only previous) time Arizona won the first two games of a series this year. However, that's where we find ourselves, in the wake of Friday night's sterling comeback, and Saturday's great start by Cahill. That's helped take the D-backs to a four-game winning streak, and another victory this afternoon would give us our best run of the season. It'd also take our record back to .500, which would be impressive considering we were six games below it on May 29: gone 7-2 since.

Your guest recapper this afternoon is...why, it's actually me. But that's fine, since it's an off-day tomorrow, which would have been my scheduled recappage anyway. Line-up and stuff after the jump.

  1. Ryan Roberts 3B
  2. Chris Young CF
  3. Justin Upton RF
  4. Paul Goldschmidt 1B
  5. Jason Kubel LF
  6. Aaron Hill 2B
  7. John McDonald SS
  8. Henry Blanco C
  9. Joe Saunders P

As you'd expect, Miguel Montero isn't in the line-up today, proving that a grand-slam is no more a guarantee of a spot the next day, than a three-run walk-off bomb. Willie Bloomquist and Gerardo Parra are also out of the starting line-up this afternoon. Ian Kennedy won't be in the clubhouse at all, as he's off with his wife, who was supposed to have given birth on Wednesday. Let's hope he can get an out there. :) No doubt he'll be back in time for his next start on Tuesday, even if he has to bring her into the dugout, for inter-inning exhortations to push.
