Hope you all had a nice off-day yesterday. The Diamondbacks didn't lose, so there's always that. They'll be trying to extend this whole "not losing" thing, going up against the only team in the majors with twice as many losses as wins - the Padres are currently on pace to go 53-109. Are they really that bad? Well, their Pythagorean record is only a couple of games better, so if they aren't quite as bad, differentiating between "utterly wretched" and merely "completely terrible" seems like splitting hairs to me. Hopefully, we'll not play down to their level this weekend.

Line-up and stuff after the jump. New dad Kubel's back and A.J. Pollock sent back to Reno again, having not troubled the record-books during this brief sojourn.

  1. Willie Bloomquist SS
  2. Aaron Hill 2B
  3. Justin Upton RF
  4. Miguel Montero C
  5. Chris Young CF
  6. Paul Goldschmidt 1B
  7. Ryan Roberts 3B
  8. Gerardo Parra LF
  9. Wade Miley.P

Kubel is, however, not in the line-up. Instead, Gerardo Parra faces a left-hander. This has not gone well in 2012: he's 4-for-26 with a .332 OPS against southpaws, which is probably why he's down in the #8 hole. Wailord is recapping this one, following a Twitter torrent of swappage which will make Monday's draft look like amateur horse-trading. Fortunately, there's a spreadsheet, otherwise I'd be taking the Ken Levine approach and saying the recap will be brought to you by an "unidentified Snakepitter".

Let's win, alright?
