At this point, reaching the middle of the third inning without being five or more runs down would feel like a massive victory for the Diamondbacks, having failed miserably to do so in either game of this series. Indeed, both contests have seen Arizona fall behind to stay, before they've even managed to record an out. So expect dancing in the streets if Miley can manage to retire a batter before allowing a home-run - something neither Joe Saunders nor Ian Kennedy were able to do in the first two games. Let's get that out of the way first, and then we can go forward, hopefully avoiding the sweep. But on the basis of our first two games, I'm not optimistic.
Line-up? Oh, if you insist... And it's probably good that this is kishi's first post-finals recap, since anything will be better than finals.

Big dust storm rolling through Phoenix a little while ago, and the room will, I imagine, be kept closed at Chase Field as a result. That might help keep the ball in the park a little bit, if Curt Schilling is to be believed, anyway. Given the way the Cardinals have been hitting the past couple of days, with seven home-runs responsible for 11 of their 15 runs, I'd perhaps also favor "accidentally" leaving the game-balls outside the back-door at Chase Field for a bit, make them nice and soggy....
