If Patrick Corbin's debut largely flew under the radar, not even being televised in his team's state, his second one can hardly be on a bigger stage, being one of Fox's nationally-screened Games of the Week. It's probably not being shown in quite as many games at the Tigers-White Sox match-up, but there will still be millions of people getting their first glimpse of Corbin, as he pitches against a double Cy Young winner. No pressure there, then, Pat. However, his first start should enough flashes of stuff that I feel hope, not least because the Mets have the worst run differential of any team in the National League.

Line-up and stuff after the jump

  1. A.J. Pollock CF
  2. Aaron Hill 2B
  3. Justin Upton RF
  4. Jason Kubel LF
  5. Paul Goldschmidt 1B
  6. Ryan Roberts 3B
  7. John McDonald SS
  8. Henry Blanco C
  9. Patrick Corbin P

It's the "tough left-hander" line-up, which means Gerardo Parra and Miguel Montero both sit. Willie Bloomquist and Cody Ransom are also out of the line-up; the latter in particular is a surprise, after he had two hits and drove in three of Arizona's five runs yesterday. Roberts had better start doing something with these chances, becauise hitting .091 in 38 PAs since April 18th will not get you much more playing time. A victory today would guarantee us a winning road-trip with tomorrow's game to go, and that's be a nice position to be in.
