Strange how things change. We were one out away from taking the series over the Nationals on Tuesday, and going for the sweep Wednesday. However, we end up leaving Washington having dropped the series, and find ourselves in New York, taking on a team who were just swept by the Astros. Let me repeat that: swept by the Astros. That hasn't happened much of late. Indeed, since the last series of August 2010, a span of 216 games, the Astros have exactly two three-game sweeps, against the Cubs and Pirates. So becoming the third doesn't suggest this Mets team should be feared at this point.

Which probably means they'll sweep us in turn. In a trio of one-run games, no doubt. Sigh. Line-up and stuff after the jump.

  1. Willie Bloomquist SS
  2. Gerardo Parra CF
  3. Justin Upton RF
  4. Jason Kubel LF
  5. Miguel Montero C
  6. Paul Goldschmidt 1B
  7. Cody Ransom 3B
  8. Aaron Hill 2B
  9. Wade Miley P

Apparently, all the Mets - and at least Kubel - will be coming to the plate to the Beastie Boys tonight, in honor of Adam Rauch, who died today. That's kinda cool. I trust 'charmer is scouring their discography in search of an appropriate title for tonight's recap!
