1965. Felix Jose born. Jose was a true itinerant ballplayer, basically playing wherever he could. His first experience of pro-ball was in 1984 in rookie-league. 25 years later, he was hitting .306 for the indie ball Schaumburg Flyers at age 44. In between, In between he played for five MLB teams, won batting titles in three different leagues, and played in Korea and Mexico, taking MVP honors in the latter for the 2002 campaign. He hit .297 for Arizona over 31 games in 2002-03.

2003: Brandon Webb made his home debut against the Atlanta Braves, allowing a run over seven innings, but it wasn't enough, as the visitors prevailed 4-2 in eleven innings. The game was tied at one after eight: both teams scored in the ninth, the D-backs doing so on Mark Grace's 509th career double, tying Rickey Henderson for 34th all-time.However, Matt Mantei allowed two runs, one unearned in the 11th, and there was no way back for Arizona. Danny Bautista had three hits for AZ.

2005: The Arizona Diamondbacks signed Cesar Valdez as an amateur free agent. Valdez actually won his major-league debut, allowing one run over five innings in Houston. His second - and, to date, last majoe-league start? Not so good, Arizona losing to Milwaukee by the score of 17-3. He never appeared in a game where we had the lead again, and was the PTBNL sent to Pittsburgh for Zach Duke. They then PTBNL'd him to Miami; Valdez is now pitching for Laguna in Mexico.

2009: Dan Haren had 11 strikeouts in 4-1 win over the Brewers in Milwaukee. He allowed four hits and two walks in eight innings of work, lowering his season ERA to 1.47. The Diamondbacks got all the offense they would need in a three-run fifth, scoring on an RBI single by Conor Jackson, and a two-run double off the bat of Chris Snyder. Both men had two hits in the game, as did Justin Upton. Chad Qualls locked things down in the ninth, allowing a double but getting his sixth save.
