Schmidt Happens: Patrick Corbin Sent Down, Schmidt Recalled

Patrick Corbin has been spotted in the Diamondbacks clubhouse packing up his locker for a trip back to the minor leagues. Corbin ran hot-and-cold in his first five starts in the major leagues, with a 2-3 record and 5.27 ERA. He was originally called up from AA Mobile, but he'll be going back to AAA Reno.

John Gambadoro is reporting that the Diamondbacks are set to call up catcher Konrad Schmidt from Reno as a reserve catcher. Miguel Montero is being given a day off after straining his groin on Monday (Henry Blanco is starting tonight), but Miggy is not being placed on the disabled list (yet....we hope...). Schmidt is hitting .274 with three home runs and 14 RBI in 31 games with the Aces.

Daniel Hudson will be re-instated from the disabled list when he is scheduled to pitch which, with the off day, will be Sunday afternoon.
