This is another of those speculative threads, going up late on the Saturday night, because I'm uncertain what time I'll be surfacing tomorrow morning. Between catching up on the three hours of sleep I ended up short last night, and the season finale of Grimm, I suspect the odds of it being in time to write much and still post this at 10:30am are probably significantly lower than the Diamondbacks' post-season odds.
So there'll be no line-up at this point, Gibby having inexplicably decided not to take my sleeping habits into account. We will, however, be sniggering at the name of the opposing starter. Heheheh - he said "Adcock"... [Update] Line-up added...
Everett Teaford. That said, Adcock has been more than decent in terms of his ERA, but a K:BB ratio of 7:5 this year and 43:31 career suggests...well, he's not all that different from Wade Miley there (126:73). So we probably don't have as much of an advantage on this side of things as you'd hope. But a victory would still mean a winning road-trip for the Diamondbacks, and that's what any team should look to do. Now, about the home-record.This was originally going to be a guest recap by BattleMoses. As he's now an official writer, he was given the option of dropping out, but decided to do it anyway. However, his grandmother had other ideas, and organized a family gathering, So he swapped with me, and will be covering tomorrow's contest instead. So, in short, you've got me. Let's get a win and then go watch a solar eclipse.
- Gerardo Parra CF
- Ryan Roberts 3B
- Justin Upton RF
- Miguel Montero C
- Chris Young DH
- Jason Kubel LF
- Paul Goldschmidt 1B
- Aaron Hill 2B
- John McDonald SS
+ Wade Miley P
Ok, so we still prefer Chris Young as a DH over Kubel? Yesterday was odd, but the math on this one really doesn't add up. You could have better defense in both left and center with Parra and Young, and make absolutely no sacrifice on offense. I'm thinking Young must be hurting in some way.? There's no other rational explanation - but then, we are talking #GibbyBall...
