The reason I'm posting the thread early is because, as I write this, Chris Young is getting an MRI on his shoulder. If the results are that a a DL stay is needed (and Gibson thinks it's likely), Cody Random will be promoted a a replacement [though I see Dan has already posted about this, so never mind... :)]. Of course, Ransom will really be replacing Geoff Blum, with Young's replacement A.J. Pollock, as discussed last night. Combined with Justin Upton's ongoing unavailability, this is the first serious bump in the road for the 2012 Diamondbacks, and it'll be interesting to see how the team respond to the challenge posed.

Line-up after the jump. Let's just say, Mrs. Pollock will be pleased for her little boy. :) Dan on the recap, to report on the latest debutant for the D-backs.

  1. Willie Bloomquist SS
  2. Aaron Hill 2B
  3. Jason Kubel RF
  4. Miguel Montero C
  5. Ryan Roberts 3B
  6. Lyle Overbay 1B
  7. A.J. Pollock CF
  8. Gerardo Parra LF
  9. Daniel Hudson P

It's time for Huddy to step things up and be the pitcher we know he can be, which hasn't really been the case this season so far. His first start was somewhat unfortunate; his second one was simply bad. As we saw last night, if the Pirates may not be the best side in the majors. they are as capable as anyone of feasting on badly-located pitches and scoring runs as a result. We can do without that, especially in a line-up missing last year's MVP and the early front-runner for this season's award.
