As initially reported by Steve Gilbert and confirmed by John Gambadoro, both on Twitter, infielder Cody Ransom has a locker in the D-backs clubhouse. Fox Sports Arizona's Jack Magruder reports that Ransom is to be activated in the event that Chris Young's MRI - which he is currently undergoing - suggests he'll need to go on the DL. Although Young is still having the MRI, Nick Piecoro has reported that Kirk Gibson expects Young to, indeed, land on the disabled list.
Interestingly, Nick P also says that Cody Ransom has been dealing with kidney stones and hasn't yet passed them all - OUCH! Yet here he is, in the clubhouse, ready to go for if (really, when) Young goes on the DL before today's game. #GibbyBall
Update: Nick Piecoro now reports that Chris Young has been placed on the 15-day disabled list. The official diagnosis is likely to do with the "acromioclavicular joint" at the top of his right shoulder.
Gibson says he expects Chris Young will go on the DL before today's game. Young is having an MRI done now.
