Might be a bit of a distracted Gameday Thread, with the Phoenix Coyotes getting their post-season under way, facing the Chicago Blackhawks in the opener of their first-round NHL playoff series. Here, we'll be hoping the offense can sort itself out, having struggled badly recently, particularly in the clutch. Still, Ian Kennedy has pretty much dominated the Padres of late, so if he keeps that up, it shouldn't take much offense to give us the series, and a road win is always satisfactory. Cap'n Kirk has opted to roll the line-up dice a bit, shaking things up in the hope of... Well, shaking things up, one would assume.

Details and thoughts after the jump:

  1. Willie Bloomquist SS
  2. Jason Kubel LF
  3. Justin Upton RF
  4. Miguel Montero
  5. Chris Young CF
  6. Lyle Overbay 1B
  7. Geoff Blum 3B
  8. Aaron Hill 2B
  9. Ian Kennedy P

Interesting. No Paul Goldschmidt, who has looked really bad in some of his at-bats. No Ryan Roberts either, Gibson opting to go with the platoons in both cases. Kubel up at #2 is a bit of a surprise, even if he was about the only productive part of the offense yesterday, taking a bases-loaded walk to drive in the only run for Arizona and getting a pair of hits too. Maybe that was a sign to Gibby he's getting going? Guess we'll see...
