The second of today's spectacular announcements, is that thanks to a very generous donation, from a party who wishes to remain anonymous, we'll be offering FREE tickets to SnakePitters to attend games at Chase Field during the coming season. The bulk of these will be a pair for Section 133, which are Baseline Reserve, situated on the lower level, between the third-base bag and the D-backs bullpen, but there may be some additional tickets elsewhere. The first games, available immediately, are as follows:

  • Wednesday April 4th, 12:40pm - exhibition vs. Brewers.
    2 x Dugout Box, Section C
    2 x Baseline Reserve, Section 133
  • Saturday April 7th, 1:10pm - vs Giants
    2 x Baseline Reserve, Section 133

Details of the offer and how to apply are after the jump.

First thing to stress is that these will be given only to active SnakePitters. We've had issues in the past where ticket giveaways have gone to people who signed up, got the tickets, and have never been seen again. That's not the aim here. They will be handed out on a first-come, first-served basis, but I reserve the right to reject any applications from those who are not members "in good standing", and I'm the final arbiter of what that means. If you want to be a part of this, all I ask is that you join the community here and take part in the discussions. Considering you're getting free tickets worth $50 or more, it's not a lot to ask.

The second point should largely go without saying, and I really don't think it'll be an issue, but these tickets are intended for active use, not resale. If you don't think you can go to a game, you shouldn't ask for the tickets. I appreciate the current list is a little short notice, but we hope to have a full list of games within the next week, so people can be a little more prepared in advance.

You can apply, either by posting in the comments or dropping me an email - click on the little envelope icon beside my name at the bottom. Delivery will be worked out as appropriate, but since I work two blocks from Chase Field (for now - we're moving offices at some point), it shouldn't be a problem to arrange a handover. There's no catch, and you won't be required to write a post recapping the game. It's just one fan's way of giving back to the 'Pit, and is a marvelous gesture that we're delighted to accept.
