Gameday Thread, ST #1+2: 3/3 Split Squad vs. Giants/Rockies

I think it'd be kind of amusing if major-league occasionally had split-squad games for a team. You'd have to figure out how to divide up your roster in order to play two simultaneous games. Do you put all your best players in one squad, or spread them out - if the latter, how would you break the team down? It'd certainly require more emphasis on player depth, that's for sure, but I dread to think what running a GDT would be like, especially if they were on at the same time. Probably very confusing and chaotic, so no change there...

Anyhoo. This is the first time I recall us starting our spring-training with a pair of games on the same day. Half the squad will be at Salt River Fields to face the Rockies, and the other half go to Scottsdale for the Giants. One game is on the radio, and I imagine MLB Game Day will be kicking into high gear as well, so those'll be the main avenues for following today's action. Line-ups, scheduled pitchers, etc. are after the jump.

"Card subject to change," as they say. The pitchers for the Rockies in particular, with the departure of Tyler Skaggs for the day. The listing as posted by Steve Gilbert, included someone called "C. Jack", and I am really not sure who that is as well. Cue someone going, "Obviously, that's ______", and me looking suitably shamefaced. There'll be a packed house at Salt River Fields, and probably close to a full one at Scottsdale Stadium, with it looking like a very pleasant day for baseball in the Phoenix area.

Man, it's good to see the boys back in action!
