Gameday Thread, ST #26: 3/27 vs. Rockies

This one's on Fox Sports Arizona, so local fans can watch it live. Out of towners (without MLB TV) can catch the re-run on the MLB Network tonight at 8pm local time, though one images it might not be quite as exciting. Oh, look: I just used the word "exciting" in reference to a Spring Training game. I think I need to lie down in a darkened room or something.

  1. Gerardo Parra, LF
  2. Aaron Hill, 2B
  3. Justin Upton, RF
  4. Chris Young, CF
  5. Lyle Overbay, 1B
  6. Ryan Roberts, 3B
  7. Henry Blanco, C
  8. John McDonald, SS
  9. Patrick Corbin, P

Corbin gets the start, which will likely be his last of spring, as I imagine by the weekend, we'll want to be getting all our rotational ducks in a row, starting on as close to their proper rest as possible. I like at least the top half of the batting order a good deal better than some we've seen of late. Parra would certainly be a much better lead-off man than Willie Bloomquist, ahead of Hill, possessing both on-base skills and actual speed [SB:CS ratio in 2011? Bloomquist 20:10; Parra 15:1] Let's hope Parra proves us right, and gets on base every time this afternoon.

Crack open a cold beer, put your feet up on the table, lie back and enjoy an afternoon of Diamondbacks' baseball. Of course, if you're at work, I probably don't recommend most of these practices...
