Gameday Thread, ST #9: 3/11 vs. Padres

Looks like my decision not to recap last night's contest proved a sensible one, as Ian Kennedy struggled again. He gave up six hits and a hit batter over three innings, leading to four runs, though struck out three and walked none. Commented Ian afterward, "I was really just trying to get my location down. I felt my fastball in was better against righties and wasn't leaving anything over the plate, so location's more important for me right now, especially the second outing." A.J. Pollock was the only batter to reach twice, with a hit and a single, as Arizona were held to five hits and zero RBI, their sole run scoring on a wild pitch.

Yep, definitely the night to retire early, watch an episode of Grimm and get a solid eight hours. Okay, it was nearer ten. With the record now at 2-5-1, it's back the team goes to Peoria this afternoon, for a game against the Padres. Here's the scheduled line-up and pitchers.
