So we've come to the end of the regular season. More importantly, though, we've come to the end of Season 2 of 'Pit Your Wits, bringing us to the final leaderboard. I'll quickly knock out the winners of last week to save the meat of the post for the winners: last week, blank_38, piratedan7, freeland1787, Nonpartisan, BulldogsNotZags, DeDxDbacKxJroK, CaptainCanuck, Swag11, and frienetic received bonus points for participating (one each), with frienetic taking home the gold, correctly predicting three of the scores. Nonpartisan took the lone silver, guessing two scores correctly, with JroK, blank, and Swag all guessing one. The 3/2/1 points were awarded accordingly, and after being added to the leaderboard, I've produced the below. Hit the jump to see who's taken Season 2 - and, remember, the winner of the season will get something from Jim's grab-bag of "Dbacksmabilia". Gogogo!
Woohoo! Congratulations to DeDxDbacKxJroK for winning this season (I believe Jim will be in contact with you shortly, though he may require an email address), becoming the second winner after Baja F1 took season one. Baja, by the way, finished in a respectable tie for ninth. BulldogsNotZags, blank_38, and Swag11 all tied for second, with frienetic helping to round out the top five. Thanks to all 38 of you that chose to participate at some point in this season especially - with this being such a community-based "project", it's very much a column/thing that wouldn't exist without all of youse guys. You guys may notice the lack of Metallic Wailords to be given out - this, of course, is out of personal laziness, as I didn't properly budget my time and opted to go with a fancy leaderboard instead of fancy eMedals. So sorry.
So, that about wraps it up. It feels anticlimactic, but maybe that's because I'm so pumped for the postseason and this seems like more of a blip. There's also no challenge, so maybe that's making me feel like this post is a bit short.I would like to point out to the users here as well as the writers that since the inception of 'Pit Your Wits, the team's never not made the playoffs. Like, just saying. I'd imagine that I'll be doing this next season as well, but I think that'll be more played by ear. Once again, thanks to all. This is the first real "creative writing" I've had to do (if you can call it that), and it's certainly been made easier by the support of my Arizonan homies. Anyway, as always, I've got some schoolwork to do. I'll need to find a new reason to procrastinate on that on Thursdays, I suppose...
That's all, folks.
