Special bonus trip to Chase Field for us this evening, courtesy of a kind SnakePitter who gave us tickets to the game [thanks again!]. It's probably for the best, as SnakePit Jr. is recording the first edition of his Nerdy Radio podcast [in his parents' basement, where else?], so we would otherwise be forced to creep around the house on tippy-toes. Factoid of the day: only the Brewers have more wins in the majors than the D-backs since the All-Star break. We'll be trying to chase Milwaukee down; they take on Pittsburgh in their final series.

Bonus factoid. A win for Hudson tonight would give Arizona two players with 17 wins - no side has managed that at time of writing. Though this may change, because pitching tonight, as well as Hudson, the Phillies' Cliff Lee and Angels' Dan Haren. Both are 16-game winners with team-mates who're already at 17 or more. Here's tonight's provisional line-up. It won't be firmly set until after batting practice, but it's good to see that Justin Upton is even tentatively present, after getting his bell rung by Lincescum last night...

  1. Ryan Roberts 3B
  2. Aaron Hill 2B
  3. Justin Upton RF
  4. Miguel Montero C
  5. Paul Goldschmidt 1B
  6. Chris Young CF
  7. Collin Cowgill LF
  8. John McDonald SS
  9. Daniel Hudson P

Recap will be a bit delayed, as I meander back from the game. I'll probably get SnakeSounds up fairly quickly on my return to SnakePit Towers, and then work on the rest of things.
