The Arizona Diamondbacks will be playing in the post-season for the first time since 2007. Tonight's victory over the San Francisco Giants at Chase Field dethroned the reigning World Series champions, and clinched the NL West for Arizona. It's the fifth in the 14 years of franchise history, following titles in 1999, 2001, 2002 and 2007, and completed a stunning transformation for a team which lost 97 games in 2010, finishing 15 games back of the fourth-placed team in the division, and 27 behind the Giants.
The National League Division Series begins next Saturday, where the Diamondbacks will face an opponent to be determined. The time and location of that contest is also undecided.
And when you go back to the Bay Area and tell others of this team, when you tell them of its riches, its players, its potential, when you talk of Chase Field, then make sure that you tell them this...It Is DEFENDED...
