Gameday Thead, #152: 9/17 vs. Padres

Josh Collmenter
RHP, 9-9, 3.40

Wade LeBlanc
LHP, 3-5, 5.43

Odd kinda start time in San Diego, which caught me a bit unaware, so this one will be brief. Diamondbacks will want to put a stop to their losing streak before it really starts, and get their push for the pennant going back in the right direction again. Meanwhile, the Rockies and Giants are in a delay at Coors [something something retractable roof something] and Milwaukee are tied with Cincinnati in the other game that matters to Arizona.

  1. Gerardo Parra LF
  2. Aaron Hill 2B
  3. Justin Upton RF
  4. Miguel Montero C
  5. Paul Goldschmidt 1B
  6. Chris Young CF
  7. Ryan Roberts 3B
  8. John McDonald SS
  9. Josh Collmenter RHP

Looks like a winning line-up to me, though I was surprised to discover we have a better record with Willie Bloomquist starting on top of the order (43-27) than without him there (44-37). Doesn't feel like it, but perhaps that's just the last two games equaling two losses. Be nice to reduce the magic number to a level where you can use one hand to count it.; getting Collmenter through the first without allowing a run would be a nice break in the recent trend by Diamondbacks' starters...
