Should be an interesting game this evening, in a number of ways. After seeing one Cy Young candidate get roughed up a little last night [though Ian Kennedy settled down well after a horrible first inning], we get to see another one this evening. Kershaw is probably right up there with Roy Halladay at the front of the pack, and the latter threw a complete-game shutout for the Phillies this afternoon, to chop his ERA down to 2.34. No shortage of motivation this evening for Kershaw - and that's even if he decides not to plunk Parra....
- Willie Bloomquist SS
- Aaron Hill 2B
- Justin Upton RF
- Paul Goldschmidt 1B
- Miguel Montero C
- Chris Young CF
- Ryan Roberts 3B
- Gerardo Parra LF
- Daniel Hudson RHP
There seems to be little or no concession to facing Kershaw in this line-up, which would have been a perfectly reasonable justification for sitting Parra in favor of Collin Cowglll. However, it seems Gibby has decided that Parra will have to face the consequences of his actions - and if he peeved the Dodgers last night with his post-homer actions, then he'll find himself int he line-up again this evening. And hitting in front of the pitcher, to boot, so with a good deal less protection.
Should be a good match-up. The Brewers are currently losing to the Rockies, so if that holds, and we can win to complete the sweep, we would get a bit of breathing-room in the fight for home-field.
