Can we stretch to eight wins in a row for Arizona? The last time the Diamondbacks won that many, was back in April 2008, as the reigning NL West champions came out of the gate like gangbusters. Bob Melvin was manager and George Bush was President: how things have changed...not least on our roster. Of the 12 players - eight position, four pitchers - who appeared for Arizona in the last game of the streak, it could be that only J-Up will see action for us tonight.
- Willie Bloomquist SS
- Gerardo Parra LF
- Justin Upton RF
- Miguel Montero C
- Aaron Hill 2B
- Lyle Overbay 1B
- Collin Cowgill CF
- Sean Burroughs 3B
- Wade Miley LHP
An old-school feel to this line-up, with Overbay in place of Paul Goldschmidt, Bloomquist for McDonald, and Sean Burroughs getting the start at third instead of Ryan Roberts [okay, so he's only a week older!]. With Cowgill also replacing Young in center, I can't say it looks like a line-up with many runs in it. Hopefully either a) I'm wrong there, or b) Miley pitches like he did in his second start, rather than his first. Ideally, both. Going to the park for this one, meeting up with shoewizard and maybe TAP as well, so that should be a lot of fun. I'll trust the mods will keep ponies - and, especially, the evil ones! - at bay in my absence!
