Well, we're back on the winning trail after what seems like the longest week of my D-backs fandom. Admittedly, it was far more due to stellar pitching than our hitting, which remained mired in a pit of fail. At least yesterday we did get a reasonable number of at-bats with runners in scoring position, so if we can reproduce that, the hits with RISP should come eventually. Well, that's the theory... Our new arrivals from Toronto have arrived, and are in the line-up this afternoon, so we'll see if they make a difference.

  1. Ryan Roberts 3B
  2. Gerardo Parra LF
  3. Justin Upton RF
  4. Miguel Montero C
  5. Chris Young CF
  6. Lyle Overbay 1B
  7. Aaron Hill 2B
  8. John McDonald SS
  9. Daniel Hudson P

As mentioned elsewhere [H/T ZM], our infield this afternoon re-unites the Toronto Blue Jays' infield from 2007 - such as this game against the Twins. It has to be incredibly rare for this to happen, but after yesterday's alignment of the weird and unusual, it's probably about par for the course in this series. Yesterday's results do mean we can come back to Phoenix no worse than tied for first, but with Hudson on the mound, I'm looking for better than that. Maybe Livan's lollipop curves will be what the team needs, though he dealt with us well enough in June, allowing two runs in seven innings. it's Hudson's first start against Washington.
