So, Zach: no grand-slams to Mr. Wolf this evening, m'kay? After yesterday's unexpected win, I must confess, I do not look at this pitching match-up with any great sense of optimism. This is purely numbers. Over Duke's last 30 road starts, which takes you back to the start of May 2009, the team for which he is pitching has gone 7-23. On the other hand, two of those victories were his last two such games for Arizona, as we beat the Marlins and Tigers. On the other other hand, neither of those wins were in any way attributable to Duke, as he was gone in the fourth of both, allowing seven and six earned runs respectively. So: not expecting much.

  1. Willie Bloomquist SS
  2. Kelly Johnson 2B
  3. Justin Upton RF
  4. Chris Young CF
  5. Miguel Montero C
  6. Xavier Nady 1B
  7. Gerardo Parra LF
  8. Ryan Roberts 3B
  9. Zach Duke LHP

Hence, I probably won't be about much this evening. Gonna enjoy my last free night for quite some time, as my next days off coincide fully with the ASG festivities, which promise to be keeping me fully occupied. Just as Fox Sports skip showing games that are likely to be of less interest e.g. midweek day games, I'm gonna save up my viewing hours for a game that has better odds of being fun to watch. Sorry, Zach. Go prove me wrong, so I can enjoy another helping of humble pie after yesterday's sterling comeback. I'll be back a lot later with the recap.
