Four homers and eight RBI by Reynolds helped push Snake to with one SB of a hitting sweep, and they held on for a narrow victory, Cordero's two saves proving crucial. The Zoidbergs got 14 strikeouts from Kennedy. plus three HR and seven RBI for Rasmus. Swisher drove in seven for Snake.
Alabama Slammers 8, Los Wailoracles 2
With six Wins, six Saves and 70 K's, Alabama's pitching rolled; Pitcher of the Week Gonzalez had two W, 16 K and 0.60 ERA, and they also picked up three Saves from Valverde. Los fared a little better at the plate, where Tulowitzki had three HR and seven RBI; McCutchen had six R and six RBI for the Slammers.
Blonde Streaks 4, Phoenix Platypi 6
Nunez (two Saves) was the difference maker for the Platypi, staving off a Blonde sweep in pitching, to match the one Phoenix had at the plate. The Streaks got 10 K from Norris and posted a collective 1.08 WHIP. Gonzalez (nine R, eight RBI) led the Platypi offense, his three HR matching Blonde's team total.
Lady Gaga Regatta 4, Lil Bitches 5
What I think may be a first - a tie in ERA - tilted the balance for Lil; they also took K and SB by one, and RBI by two. Santana (Lady) had a W + 13 K; Marmol notched a W + Sv and Vogelsong a W + 11 K for Lil. Ramirez led all hitters here, with a three HR, eight RBI week sporting the Regatta colors.
The Fighting Amish 5, warlords 4
The Amish had a great week from Bautista (four HR, eight RBI, .391 BA), plus three HR from Hamilton, and used that to dominate hitting. war fought back in pitching, behind three Papelbon Saves; Storen got a W and Sv. However, the Amish racked up 56 K's, a dozen by Wilson, to snatch overall victory.
Ignatius J. Rallies 3, Sofa King Juiced 7
Juiced racked up a likely record 18 HR, behind Hitter of the Week Ramirez (six HR, nine R, 10 RBI) and Berkman (four HR, seven RBI). Rallies managed only one HR and 15 RBI in total. Correia did get two W for them, but Kimbrel (four Sv) and Garza (W + 13 strikeouts) allowed Sofa to cruise home.
Mizzoula Osprey 6, Bad Wolf 4
Osprey swept hitting, but their "closer by committee" produced a crucial eight Saves, breaking Wolf's stranglehold in pitching. Kinsler had four HR for Mizzoula and Santos saved three. For Bad, Lee had a Win and 14 strikeouts, with Sabathia just behind him, notching a Win and 13 K's.
