Ok, so last night's game wasn't exactly the best of starts to the series, but it reminds me of that series against the Rockies, where we got hammered in the opener - and that was behind Daniel Hudson too. Much to our pleasure, we defied expectations to take the next two games and the series. Owings played a big part there, combining with Zach Duke to shut the opposition out, and we turn to him again, in what could be his last start before Jason Marquis arrives from the Nationals. With the Giants losing badly in Cincinnati [7-2 down after six], a win tonight could well get us back to within three of San Francisco.

  1. Willie Bloomquist SS
  2. Kelly Johnson 2B
  3. Justin Upton RF
  4. Miguel Montero C
  5. Chris Young CF
  6. Brandon Allen 1B
  7. Ryan Roberts 3B
  8. Gerardo Parra LF
  9. Micah Owings RHP

Be interesting to see how far Owings might go this time. He was pulled after five last time, and that was only 61 pitches. I imagine it'll depend how the game goes, but the bullpen was pretty heavily beaten last night, so I can see Gibby trying to ride Owings until the wheels fall off. Looks like Upton's outfield gaffe and subsequent outburst in the dugout, have been viewed with forbearance by Cap'n Kirk - let's face it, he's probably in the line-up for anything short of murder [and even then, if there are any extenuating circumstances].

Pity the poor sucker that has to sit up for this one to be over and then write a recap of it, instead of engaging in the million and one other possibilities a Saturday night has to offer. What? It's me? Dammit! Yep, traded with Wailord, who is off watching other people play computer games. Like I said. A million and one possibilities...
