So, Ian McMillan in the GDT = horrible defeat. No Ian McMillan = crushing victory. I rest my case, and will do my best to ensure that, after this sentence, today's GDT is 100% Ian McMillan free. It does, however, have Micah Owings, moving back into the rotation for his third start this year. He was been very solid out of the bullpen, but whether than can be translated into a starting role, remains to be seen: his ERA there over his career is north of five. Still, if you provided this match-up at the start of the year, and said we'd be almost two-thirds of the way through the season, and Owings would be the one with the sub-three ERA...

  1. Willie Bloomquist SS
  2. Xavier Nady LF
  3. Justin Upton RF
  4. Chris Young CF
  5. Miguel Montero C
  6. Geoff Blum 3B
  7. Ryan Roberts 2B
  8. Brandon Allen 1B
  9. Micah Owings RHP

Kelly Johnson (calf) and Gerardo Parra (forearm) are being held out of the line-up, but it's more precautionary than anything else. Off-day tomorrow, so that will give them a chance to get rested for the road-trip through three-quarters of the NL West that starts Tuesday. sonic barracuda is your guest recapper for this one; if any of the other editors are about, please do the needful, as we'll be at the game with the kishis, so likely won't be back till a goodly time afterward. Beating Jimenez won't be easy - he has been a lot better since the first time we saw him, but at least he doesn't appear to be the sub-one ERA pitcher from the first-half of last year. Cue a no-hitter, I imagine. ;-)
