The 'Pit swept hitting, batting .292 with five players having multi-homer weeks, led by Cano (seven R, two HR) and Swisher (two HR, six RBI). Platypi had a sub-three ERA for the round, with Humber and Hudson each giving a W + five K. But Snake got 12 K's from Garcia and Cordero saved three.
Alabama Slammers 6, Lil Bitches 3
Slammers piled up 57 K's behind Shields (two W, 15 K, 0.00 ERA). Both teams were sub-three ERAs; Romero had a Win and 12 strikeouts for Lil. At the plate, Hitter of the Week Lind had four HR and Espinosa three for Alabama, Granderson and Victorino drove in seven apiece on Lil's account.
Blonde Streaks 5, warlords 4
Both sides struggled at the plate: Blonde hit below the Uecker Line, but a 19-19 tie in RBI was enough to give them the overall edge. They made up for it on the mound with a 1.49 ERA and Pitcher of the Week Shields Verlander (two W, 17 K, 0.39 WHIP). Rodriguez had two W + 11 K for war.
Lady Gaga Regatta 3, Sofa King Juiced 6
Sofa got two HR and eight driven in by Teixeira, but it was pitching that proved decisive. They held on for a tie in W, and took ERA by 0.13, with Dempster striking out 13. Arroyo got two Wins for Lady, who saw Boesch score seven Runs. Soria notched two scoreless Saves for Sofa.
The Fighting Amish 3, Bad Wolf 7
Wolf have Pujols to thank for the win, as his three HR and .333 BA were key in taking both categories. In pitching they got two Wins by Sabathia and Bailey saved three. The Amish got double-digits in strikeouts from Grienke, Baker and Wilson, and Rios homered twice for them.
Ignatius J. Rallies 2, Mizzoula Osprey 8
The Osprey picked up four points in both hitting and pitching - Morse was their best hitter, with three homers and nine runs driven in, while Rollins drove in and scored seven. Capps saved three. The Rallies lost strikeouts by one, despite a Win and 16 K's from Burnett, and 14 more whiffs from Gallardo.
Los Wailoracles 4, Whooping Zoidbergs 6
The Zoids pulled off back-to-back wins for the first time this year, the two vulture Wins by reliever Burnett this week a crucial part of that success. Kennedy struck out ten on the mound, and Upton drove in seven runs. Konerko had three HR for Los, and Hanrahan saved a trio of games.
