SnakeBytes 5/5: Cinco to Reno Edition

I'm not thrilled to see Barry Enright get sent down to AAA. Yeah, it's probably for the best, but I like the guy. But if the team is going to send their #5 starter down to the Aces? Well, from a cynical, guy-looking-for-a-catchy-headline standpoint, they picked the right day to do it.

• [FSN Arizona] Enright struggles in loss to Colorado - Jack Magruder says the DBacks might be running out of patience with Barry Enright's struggles this season. I guess he was right. That 6.49 ERA sure didn't help.

• [AZ Central] Colorado Rockies use big innings to defeat Arizona Diamondbacks - Enright is at least consistent- he's given up six runs in five of his six starts this year. Ah, Barry, if only you could be consistently good, instead.

• [The Denver Post] Rockies beat Diamondbacks behind Iannetta's bat, defense - On the other mound, Chacin was pretty untouchable. He gave up two home runs, but with no one on, they didn't hurt too much.

• [D'Backs Central] J.J. Putz, David Hernandez Becoming Lethal Duo in Late Innings - They do give me a lot more confidence in the late innings than I'm used to. I know there's some question why three runs in six innings is a quality start, but if you've got a solid set-up of seven-eight-nine guys in the bullpen, three runs in six can be enough for a win if your bats are working.

• [AZ Central] Arizona Diamondbacks could land UCLA's Gerrit Cole at No. 3 - Cole has had some problems in his past few starts- could he slip to the DBacks at the #3 in the draft?

• [DBacks.com] Blum could start rehab in four weeks - The results of Geoff Blum's MRI were less dire than expected, so the team has decided against microfracture surgery, and he could be back sooner than we expected.

• [Bloomberg] Almost-Perfect-Game Book Keeps Umpire Joyce From Arizona Diamondback Games - One thing we won't see this year is a reunion between Armando Galarraga and Jim Joyce- everyone agrees that, since they're putting out a book together, Joyce probably shouldn't be calling any games for the Diamondbacks.
