And it was going so well, too... After the last couple of days, we turn to Hudson, to do a couple of things: a) salvage a split of the series, and b) keep us above .500 on the homestand. After we'd won three of the first four games this week, and were leading in the fifth, it seemed unlikely we'd be in this position - we've still outscored Chicago handily, 16-11, in this series. But the offense has largely been firing blanks the past couple of days: today will hopefully rectify that, and we'll get back to the double-digits ways of the opener.
Of course, Wailord's not at this one - we burst into his room at 3 this morning to bind and gag him, purely to prevent this - so we may have a chance. pygalgia on the recap, so we'll see if he can end the streak.
If we do win, we probably have BattleMoses to thank for this one. Hudson tweeted:
I did see my first Hudson 41 jersey tonight. Gets me jacked for tomorrow!!
Said garment was owned by BM, who brought it to the park yesterday to get signed. We're gradually working out what it takes for our starters to get fired-up: Kennedy needs a new child, Hudson a bit of fan love. I think we know who's going to be easier to work with. :-) Lineup? Oh, yeah:
- Chris Young CF
- Kelly Johnson 2B
- Justin Upton RF
- Stephen Drew SS
- Miguel Montero C
- Ryan Roberts 3B
- Juan Miranda 1B
- Gerardo Parra LF
- Daniel Hudson P
As noted, pygalgia is covering this one from the cool reaches of Flagstaff; I'll be back this evening with my round-up of April for the Diamondbacks.
