Hey, it seems weird to have two days off in the middle of the season. I mean, usually you only get one day off at a time, right? But I'm pretty sure we never played on Wednesday, so I guess we got to rest up for the Giants to come to town. That's nice.

[FSN Arizona] Today on FOX Sports Arizona: D-backs vs. Giants, 6 p.m. - In six games at home this season, the DBacks have scored 42 runs, though they've given up 44. Facing off against the Giants starters, though, might make it a little more difficult to keep up that sort of offensive performance.
-
[DBacks.com] Elite arms could dampen scoring binge - Remember the optimism we had in our rotation when we had Webb and Haren, and we were looking forward to seeing Scherzer's development? Yeah, the Giants had something like that, too, but it actually worked out for them.
-
[AZ Central] Arizona Diamondbacks hitters ready for Giants, Phillies aces - I have to say, missing Lincecum, Halladay, and Lee makes this stretch of games seem a lot more palatable. It's not like the rest of the pitchers are a walk in the park, though.
-
[Miami Herald] San Francisco Giants (6-6) at Arizona Diamondbacks (5-6) - On the other hand, I sometimes forget that the Giants have an offense, outside Buster Posey and Pablo Sandoval. I'm sure they've got some players they run out there, but I don't think any of them have made much of an impression in my brain.
DBacks News:

[FSN Arizona] Young has D-backs thinking like thieves - Oh, man, too bad the Eric Byrnes Show is gone, we could have a Leverage-style episode about base stealing. No, wait, I mean good thing. I get those confused sometimes.
-
[AZ Central] Arizona Diamondbacks have a specific plan for prospects - During Spring Training, the DBacks had meetings with all of their minor league players about their plans and goals for the season. Here's hoping we'll see some good development.
-
[DBacks Venom] Assembling a Diamondbacks Roster Only from Signed Draft Picks - What kind of team would the Diamondbacks be able to field if they never traded players or let anyone go? Amit puts together a roster. The bullpen isn't pretty- it never is when you've got a converted position player as closer- but it'd be cheaper than last year's roster and produce about as well.
-
[DBacks.com] D-backs Inbox: How to improve the bullpen's performance - "They are going to give Gutierrez a chance here to work out his mechanical issues, because they absolutely love his arm and what he is capable of doing when he's right." Is Guti's problem mechanical? That's not a rhetorical question, I'm not an expert on pitching, but I always thought it was something mental.

[Baseball Nation] Twins' Problems Piling Up Too Quickly - A bad start to the season, and your star player going on the DL with a strange diagnosis of "bilateral leg weakness"- this could be bad news for anyone who picked the Twins to go to the World Series.

[Big League Stew] Thomas Jefferson smacked at Nats game, is Phils fan to blame? - Baseball-related article, or 'Duk's tolling Phillies fans? It's both! And it makes me laugh either way. But really, punching Jefferson's probably the safer way to to go. If you punched Roosevelt, he'd probably come into the stands after you.
