Third time around the rotation we go, and as blue bulldog pointed out, things have largely been as expected going round our starters. Hudson and Kennedy have been good, but the rest have got room for improvement. However, of course, the "good" starters have one win between them, while Armando Galarraga is 2-0. Of course, it's not just about run support, it's when it arrives, but here's what the offense has scored in each starter's games to date (. Quite a startling difference.
- Ian Kennedy (1-0): 20
- Armando Galarraga (2-0): 19
- Joe Saunders (0-1): 11
- Barry Enright (0-1): 7
- Daniel Hudson (0-2): 2
- Kelly Johnson 2B
- Stephen Drew SS
- Justin Upton RF
- Russell Branyan 1B
- Chris Young CF
- Miguel Montero C
- Melvin Mora 3B
- Gerardo Parra LF
- Ian Kennedy RHP
I though Juan Miranda was going to get the majority of starts at first-base? Tonight means that the tally through the first 11 games is Miranda 5; Branyan 4; Nady 2. Given the odds are very much against Russell and Xavier being with us next year, I'd have thought we'd be running Juan out there almost every day and seeing what he's made of. Curious. Oh, well: let's see if we can tie our season-high winning streak of "two", and take the series.
