2011 'Pitties Nominations Open!

Happy Thanksgiving! And what better day to show what we're thankful for, by opening up the nominations for this year's AZ SnakePit Awards, known as the 'Pitties [largely because no-one has been able to come up with a better name]. Over the coming weeks, we'll be handing out our not-actually-existing trophies for the best performances by an Arizona Diamondbacks over the previous season. But we want to make sure all the deserving recipients get their chance, so I'm seeking nominations from the floor.

After the jump, you'll find a list of the categories, and the current incumbents. Please throw into the ring any other suggestions you may have, particularly for Play and Game of the Year, as I'm sure I missed some out! As with the real awards, only regular season performances are eligible. The first offical set of nominations, for Play of the Year, will be posted for voting next Wednesday
