The first round of post-season activity in Division One saw two shocks in the Championship rounds - indeed, three of the four contests went to the lower-seeded team. SnakePit roared out of the gates, but war came back and almost closed the gap: three more runs would have given them the game. Snake's pitching came through, with Myers and Arroyo each picking up two wins. war got two HR from Lee, and Street notched two Saves.
(5) Sofa King Juiced 5, (4) 7-2 Offsuiters 3
HR and Sv ended tied: one more of each would have brought 7-2 into a tie, though Juiced owned both tie-breakers. Player of the Week was 7-2's Tulowitzki with an amazing six HR, 17 RBI performance, but it wasn't enough. The winners enjoyed three HR from Bautista, and seven RBI by Gonzalez.
Consolation Playoffs
(12) NiceCrispyBacon 1, (9) Shoryukens! 7
A clerical error had Bacon facing Blonde initially (they'd have lost to both anyway). W and Sv were tied - Hamels (Shoryu) and Dempster (Bacon) notched the only Wins this match-up. Shoryu got two HR from Tejada and Abreu in a low-offense game; the sides combined for six HR and 33 RBI.
(11) Funny Team Name 7, (10) Lady Gaga Regatta 3
Lady's pitching hardly showed up - they managed one start this week, helping Funny sweep those categories, with two Wins + 14 K for Lowe, and 16 K's for Blanton. Hitting was more balanced: Lady took three points there, behind Werth's four HR, 10 RBI week, but the pitching gap proved too much.
