AZ SnakePit Fantasy Baseball, Week 18

Hey, the Diamondbacks had their first winning week since the second one in June! Woo-hoo! Go, us! We even swept the Padres! Oh, hang on - that was just 'Skins recap. Anyway, fantasy baseball continues apace. Here are the quick results, now with extra added Division One-A recaps and standings!

DIVISION ONE

Important note. Playoffs are shown on the schedule to begin in Week 25. This is incorrect, but CBSSports does not allow for more than two playoff weeks - I'll manually alter the schedule once we know is in. The playoff schedule will be the same as in the Yahoo! leagues, with the top six qualifying. Positions 3-6 will playoff in Post-Season Round 1 (Week 24), with the winners joining #1 and #2 for two rounds of knockout contests in Week 25 and 26. A consolation bracket will also take place for spots #7-12, on the same basis. Note: the final round will be ONE week, not two as in Yahoo! Any questions, please ask. I assume Division One-A will be the same as last year.

Funny Team Name 5, Sofa King Juiced 4
Funny pipped Juiced, after Wins ended tied at three. It was a well-pitched game: Funny had a team WHIP of 0.95, and Sofa a team ERA of 2.52. Beltre had three homers and nine RBI for Funny, and two Wins by Gallardo. Sofa got sixteen strikeouts from Lewis.

Balco's Boys 6, NiceCrispyBacon 3
Boys came within one HR of sweeping pitching, and held on in the face of Bacon's comeback on the mound - they had a 0.94 WHIP, and Lilly picked up two Wins. Bourn was crucial for Balco's, his two RBI and five Runs being the margin of victory or more in both categories.

7-2 Offsuiters 7, Baked 1
With Baked's manager unavailable, his team proved easy picking for 7-2, despite two Wins from Cahill - the 2.61 ERA was Baked's only point. It was hitting where 7-2 really dominated: Weeks scored eight Runs, and Wells homered twice, and Vargas got two W's.

Blonde Streaks 6, Shoryukens! 4
Blonde used pitching to take this one, a collective 1.80 ERA and six Wins doing the trick: Hudson got two Wins, and Sanchez a W + 13 strikeouts. They also enjoyed a four HR, 10 RBI week from Teixeira. Shoryu's Fielder drove in 11, and Papelbon notched a trio of Saves.

Moving on Uptons 5, The Fighting Amish 4
The Game of the Week was as expected, Uptons just edged the Amish - as in the Funny-Sofa game, because Wins were tied at three. Amish hit .332, with Gonzalez (four HR, eight RBI) their star. Two Wins and 19 strikeouts from Halladay was Upton's best performance.

Lady Gaga Regatta 4, warlords 6
war didn't pitch well - a 6.80 ERA - but notched enough Wins and K's to hold off Lady: Beckett's Win and 14 K's was crucial in both areas, countering a Win and 17 strikeouts from Lady's Santana. Ortiz (war) was the only man on either side with more than one homer.

Confederate Generals 5, AZ SnakePit 5
Generals' Morrow took Player of the Week honors, for his two Wins and 26 Strikeouts. But Dunn's offensive week, five home-runs and eleven RBI, was just as impressive for Snake, and a tie is a fair result. Kubel (Snake) and Hill (Generals) each had three long-balls.
