It may be draft day, but there is still "proper" baseball going on, with the Diamondbacks now playing host to the Atlanta Braves for a four-game set. They have gone on a tear since we last saw them over on the East coast, and come into this series as the leaders of the NL East. In the road series, they take two of three from us - there was a blow-out in each direction, but the Braves pipped us 6-5 in the opening contest.
- Kelly Johnson 2B .268
- Conor Jackson LF .232
- Stephen Drew SS .285
- Justin Upton RF .249
- Adam LaRoche 1B .261
- Mark Reynolds 3B .215
- Chris Young CF .271
- Chris Snyder C .207
- Dan Haren P .400
Hopefully Haren will do better than when he faced the Braves on May 16, when they took him for eight hits, three walks and seven runs in only 4.1 innings. Haren was a lot better last time out, throwing eight shutout innings in Los Angeles, and we'll be hoping for more of the same - if only to increase his trade value if, as rumor suggests, we may be looking to move him. Upton and Drew are back in the line-up having apparently recovered from their case of Ubalditis [in Upton's case, at least] yesterday.
I'm recapping, but have about ten billion other things to get done, so may not be massively active in the thread. Depends how long it takes me to pick the bones out of a Wordpress template...
