Another day, another chance to end the losing streak. Might be our best chance of the weekend this evening, looking at the pitching match-ups the rest of the way. Really, as long as it isn't a 1-0 extra-inning loss, I will probably be more relieved than anything else.
Line-up and stuff after the jump.
- Kelly Johnson 2B
- Justin Upton RF
- Stephen Drew SS
- Adam LaRoche 1B
- Mark Reynolds 3B
- Chris Young CF
- Gerardo Parra LF
- Chris Snyder C
- Ian Kennedy RHP
We haven't faced Cook this season, but have historically done pretty well - last year, he was winless in three attempts, with a 7.90 ERA. Snyder's numbers are nothing short of instance, 13-for-22, giving him a line of .591/.654/.818, a 1.472 OPS, with Drew and LaRoche also over 1.000 in 10+ at-bats. Kennedy did face the Rockies in the series in late May, taking the loss as he walked four batters in five inning, though the three earned runs allowed was hardly a disaster. It's time someone stopped the losing streak - but if the Dodgers series is anything to go by, it's the offense who need to improve, a lot more than our starting pitching.
