With at least a split of the series already guaranteed, a win this afternoon would be a significant boost for the team - taking three of four from the #1 team in the NL East would be a good result for the Diamondbacks, and provide another small step on the road to respectability. After snatching a victory last night that, frankly, the offense really didn't deserve, another stellar starting performance went unrewarded. On eight occasions this year, our starters have allowed no earned runs. Only three times has the starter got a W, and the team is 4-4 in those games.
Line-up for today and other stuff after the jump.
- Kelly Johnson 2B
- Conor Jackson LF
- Stephen Drew SS
- Justin Upton RF
- Adam LaRoche 1B
- Mark Reynolds 3B
- Gerardo Parra CF
- John Hester C
- Dontrelle Willis LHP
Willis makes his second start for us, having weaved his way in and out of trouble on Saturday. I'd rather he skipped the whole "trouble" thing today. And since I just got a nervous message from Jenny, and also realized this game is a 12:40 start, and not the 1:10 one I expected, that will have to do! Recap may be a bit late, depending on when the game finishes - it'll likely have to wait until I get home. See you at lunchtime in the thread!
