I know it may not seem like it, but if the Diamondbacks take this morning's game, it will turn out to have been a winning road-trip, as we have currently won two and lost two of the four played to date. It's the return of Billy Buckner to the rotation: he pitched himself out of a job in spring training, but has generally been solid down in Reno, so gets the chance as a result of Cesar Valdez moving to the bullpen. Blaine Boyer was designated for assignment this morning as a result. Full line-up, and an unhappy Hanley Ramirez, after the jump.

  1. Kelly Johnson 2B
  2. Conor Jackson LF
  3. Stephen Drew SS
  4. Justin Upton RF
  5. Adam LaRoche 1B
  6. Mark Reynolds 3B
  7. Chris Young CF
  8. Chris Snyder C
  9. Billy Buckner RHP

Mark Reynolds back in the line-up, having apparently got over what ailed him yesterday. Not quite the case for Hanley Ramirez. He got yanked from the game by manager Fredi Gonzalez after his play in the second inning. At the time, I imagine we all thought it was because of injury, but "In his post-game briefing with the media, Gonzalez admitted the effort wasn't there from his superstar. "There's 24 [other] guys busting their butts," said the Marlins manager, and suggested that Ramirez should apologize to his team-mates.

Ramirez was unimpressed. "It’s his team. He does whatever he (expletive) wants. There’s nothing I can do about it. It’s brutal." and when asked about the pain and his ankle, added Gonzalez "doesn’t understand that. He never played in the big leagues." Read the link at the start of the paragraph. There's a lot more interesting stuff there. Ramirez is not in the Marlins line-up, so let's see the Diamondbacks make the most of this, and come home after another winning trip away from home.
