AZ SnakePit Fantasy Baseball, Week 1

The first week of fantasy baseball is in the books. Here are the quick results from the top tier, details, standings are after the jump. I'm still trying to find out the best way to locate the appropriate information, and given my current state of jet-laggedness, this will likely be a brief report!

Funny Team Name 3, Baked 5
NiceCrispyBacon 6, Shoryukens! 3
Lady Gaga Regatta 5, 7-2 Offsuiters 5
The Fighting Amish 5, Blonde Streaks 5
Confederate Generals 2, Moving on Uptons 8
Sofa King Juiced 7, Balco's Boys 3
AZ SnakePit 5, warlords 4

Funny Team Name 3, Baked 5
Last year, Baked were known for their pitching, and it looks likely to be the same this year, as they had a team ERA in Opening Week of 2.82. Four saves by Rauch and three HR by Pedroia were also very helpful for them; Polanco drove in eight for FTN: RBI and SB ended tied.

NiceCrispyBacon 6, Shoryukens! 3
Bacon pounded out 12 homers on their way to the win, getting three each from Howard and Jones, as they swept all five hitting categories. Shoryu fought back on the mound, Buehrle getting them a pair of W's, but Bacon took WHIP to seal a relatively easy victory.

Lady Gaga Regatta 5, 7-2 Offsuiters 5
Nothing to separate these two, and some individual categories were very close too: Lady won BA by .002, but 7-2 took RBI by a single run. Weeks (7-2) and Cabrera (Lady) each has two HR and six R. Wolf had a W + 11 K for 7-2, and Franklin saved two, while Bell and Cordero saved two each for Lady.

The Fighting Amish 5, Blonde Streaks 5
Amish had a clear edge on the mound, but that was countered by Blonde's equally clear edge at the plate, making a draw a fair result. Two Wins and 13 K's from Jimenez highlighted Amish's pitching staff, but three home-runs and six RBI by Holliday proved equally as important.

Confederate Generals 2, Moving on Uptons 8
The week's most one-sided game saw Uptons blaze to the top of the table with a decisive victory. The Generals took BA and SB (Granderson had three), but otherwise, it was Uptons all the way. Having Pujols (4 HR, 10 RBI) helped; Heyward had three HR and Halladay won twice.

Sofa King Juiced 7, Balco's Boys 3
Sofa hit .314 for the week, behind Prado (13-for-24) and Molina (2 HR, 7 RBI), but it was mostly their pitching, which had a sub-one WHIP, 61 strikeouts and six W's, Lincecum notching two of them. Balco's best player was Cantu, who drove in ten for them in a losing effort.

AZ SnakePit 5, warlords 4
Stolen-bases ended tied at five, and that was enough to give SnakePit overall victory. Four HR and nine RBI by Cruz powered their offense, while Hoffman got a Win and two Saves. Weaver had a W and 13 strikeouts on the mound for war, and Gonzalez homered twice.
