Going to be showing up late to this one, since the aim is to get the last part of Torchwood out of the way first, and then tune into the game with my full attention. That should hopefully help avoid the kind of frantic channel-hopping which has taken place rather a lot this week. I will be carefully managing my expectations for this, since it feels like we haven't won a game started by our #5 forever. It's actually less than three weeks - and it was tonight's starter.
On July 4th, we beat the Rockies 11-7 in Coors, coming back from a Petit-driven 4-0 deficit. However, since then, he's been at least credible in his two outings, allowing a total of five runs in 11.1 innings of work against the Cardinals and Marlins, on only nine hits. Control was an issue last time out, with four walks, and he's not the kind of pitcher who can afford to do that. Keeping the ball in the strike-zone - and, as usual for Petit, in the park - will be crucial to his longevity and our success.
