It looks like the tribute to Randy Johnson originally planned for tonight has been postponed. Johnson won't be at Chase this evening, as he's got his daughter's graduation to attend. Somewhat embarrassing for the Diamondbacks, who have touted the event pretty heavily over the past week or so - but apparently, forgot to check with the guest of honor that he would actually be present. Don't blame Johnson in the slightest, of course:, though one wonders if this is why he agreed to pitch yesterday, on short rest, so he could be off tonight. Tomorrow is now the scheduled date: no word on whether the team will exchange tickets, but I imagine they will.
Couple of roster moves to report in time for tonight's contest, both affecting the bullpen. As expected, Blaine Boyer arrived off waivers from the Cardinals - paqs pointed out that Boyer's peripherals are not too bad, and if he can live up to them, he'll be about league average, which would certainly help the bullpen out. We also get Scott Schoeneweis back from the extended bereavement list. To make room, Daniel Schlereth and Leo Rosales have been sent back to the minors, though not heard yet whether Schlereth is returning to Mobile or Reno. Might write more a little nearer game-time, but don't count on it, as I'll be busy with the draft stuff.
