Week 8 Results

AZ SnakePit 7, warlords 2
SnakePit ended their losing streak in no uncertain style. They took most of the pitching categories behind Verlander (2 W, 13 K), posting a 2.40 team ERA, and also batted .333 on the week. Thome drove in seven runs; Bay (2 HR, .304 BA) was war's best player.

Blonde Streaks 4, 7-2 Offsuiters 6
While both teams pitched well [ERAs of 2.54 and 2.41 respectively], hitting proved decisive. Fielder's two homers and six RBI gave 7-2 a decisive advantage, while Scutaro scored seven runs. Nathan had three Saves, but Rodney and Jenks notched two each for Blonde.

GregSchulteOverdrive 8, Wimboes Barmy Army 2
Greg rolled to an easy victory, taking four points on both sides. Howard (four HR, 10 RBI) was their hitting star, while Lidge (four SV, 0.00 ERA) proved impeccable on the mound. Maine's two Wins gave that category to Wimb, who also took BA, but it was all Greg otherwise.

Balco's Boys 5, Arizona Muugens 5
In a week of blowouts, this was the closest game, the two sides ending level. Balco's took hitting, behind Teixeira (three HR, 10 RBI) and twelve SB in total. But Muugens fought all the way back on the mound: surprisingly, Doug Davis led all players with 12 K for them.

Captain Douchebag 2, Baked 7
The contest was closer than it looked: Baked took ERA by .06 and BA by just .002. The contributions of Crawford (two HR, .370, 2 SB) and Hernandez (0.00 ERA) were therefore crucial. Lester had a W and 16 for Captain, who inexplicably left a bullpen spot empty this week.

The Fighting Amish 7, Desert Dingleberries 2
The teams combined for 18 homers, with Cruz (seven Runs, three HR) leading the way for Amish - Dye drove in eight for them, while Granderson scored seven times for Desert. Amish also got a W and 17 K's from Price, and piled up 53 strikeouts all told.

Shoryukens! 8, Moving on Uptons 1
The wheels fell off the Uptonmobile, the league-leaders crashing and burning badly. Their sole victory game in K's (Anderson had seven); otherwise, it was all Shoryu. Gonzalez had four HR and drove in ten runs, Hughes added a Win and 12 K's, and Bell had three saves.

Confederate Generals 7, Kapsaicin Kids 3
With only 33 runs between them, it was a light-hitting week, but the Generals came out on top, thanks to two HR and a .407 BA from Kemp. They also had 55 K's, with Greinke (Win and 15 strikeouts) their top performer. Kids got a Win and 12 K's from Wainwright.
