Week 2 Results

AZ SnakePit 5, GregSchulteOverdrive 4
AZ dominated on the mound, piling up 51 K's behind Billingsley (2 W, 17 K's)  and Kazmir (W, 11 K). Greg were almost as successful at the plate, behind Cano (7 R, 2 HR) and Choo (2 HR, 6 RBI), but Reyes' 2 SB for SnakePit proved decisive.

Blonde Streaks 6, Baked 3
Streaks put the ball in play, hitting .325, thanks to Hudson (.542, 8 R) and Lopez (.400). Baked managed only 2 homers and 12 RBI, but made a game of it in pitching, with Lester (W, 14 K) their best player. Lincecum (Blonde) fanned 13.

Balco's Boys 5, Desert Dingleberries 5
A slugfest erupted here, the teams swatting 20 homers: Quentin (Desert) had five of those, with Utley and Young (Balco's) adding three each. Floyd (2 W, 9 K) gave Balco's the edge in pitching, but Cordero saved three for Desert to tie things up.

Captain Douchebag 6, Moving on Uptons 4
Cap'n moved into first despite lackluster hitting (.234, 3 HR) - Youkilis (8 R, 2 HR) kept them afloat there. They did better throwing the ball, Garza fanning 13 and a team WHIP of 1.14. Morrow (Uptons) had the only save for either side this week.

Arizona Muugens 8, Kapsaicin Kids 1
Muugens gained a lot of ground with this round's only convincing victory. Ethier (8 R, 4 HR, 12 RBI) had a monster week, and Hunter added three homers. Burnett (W, 11 K) led their pitching staff, but Wood's save gave Kids their only full point.

Wimboes Barmy Army 4, Confederate Generals 6
Wimb's stay atop the league proved brief: a 1.68 WHIP not helping their cause. Greinke (2 W, 19 K) powered the Generals to 54 K's, and Braun's SB gave them that crucial point. Jones (Wimb) was the best hitter, scoring and driving in eight.

7-2 Offsuiters 5, Shoryukens! 5
This went to the wire, 7-2 taking WHIP by .03 to get a tie. Bell saved four for Shoryu, and Gallardo fanned ten for 7-2. In hitting, Ibañez had three homers and Kinsler stole six bases (both 7-2), while DeRosa and Peña drove in 10 and 12 for Shoryu.

warlords 5, The Fighting Amish 5
War pounded 12 homers (3 from Ludwick, and 10 RBI), while hitting .333, but Amish got three homers from Cameron and came back in pitching, Qualls' Saturday save getting them a vital point. Vázquez struck out 20 for the warlords.

Week 3 Games

AZ SnakePit vs. Balco's Boys
Blonde Streaks vs. GregSchulteOverdrive
Captain Douchebag vs. Desert Dingleberries
Arizona Muugens vs. Moving on Uptons
Wimboes Barmy Army vs.Kapsaicin Kids
7-2 Offsuiters vs. Confederate Generals
warlords vs. Shoryukens!
The Fighting Amish vs. Baked

In a quirk of scheduling, all eight leading teams face opposition from the lower half this week. The closest to a clash between top sides sees the Arizona Muugens, in third, face 9th-placed Moving on Uptons, so that's the MBN Game of the Week. Muugens had the only decisive win last week, and hope Ethier (16 RBI) and continue his hot start; Halladay has three wins for them. The Uptons have Pujols at the heart of their offense, but don't have a pitcher with more than one win thus far.
