This is something I was thinking of doing anyway, but the Yahoo! news which 'Skins announced below [curse his omniscient tentacles of intelligence-gathering!], has spurred me into action. Gaslamp Ball have tried it three times, and been successful, so we're shamelessly stealing their idea [and not a little of the text!]. With today also being the first game of Spring Training, it seems a perfect point to issue an open invite.
It's estimated that 95% of blog readers are lurkers, 4.9% contribute and...then there's Dbacksskins. He has a bit of a head start on you, commentwise, but as Confucius once said, 'A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.' Dbackskins immediately followed that up with '+1', engaging in the shameless stats-padding for which is he is justly renowned. But even he had to start somewhere. So this is your chance to finally realize your dream of becoming a SnakePitter. Comment for the first time, give us your thoughts on the team, introduce yourself or just say "I love narwhals."
I know you're out there. We have almost 600 members now: TeeHall, Dbacker in the 903, MADMIKEE, AustralianDBacksFan, firmturf, rich17, Tooch27, dbacks18, saintsfan, DBacksUA, tebowtime1515, all joined in the past two weeks. And then there are those of you who haven't become members of the SB Nation posse. Now is your time to put your toe in the warm Arizonan water and see how good it feels.

New readers might want to look over SnakePit 1.0.1, which explains some of the terms, etc. which you may encounter here. I'll be updating that piece later on today, to include some new terms, but it's still a good place to start. I've also re-opened the Hello, My Name Is... thread, where you can read about a lot of the other commentors on the 'Pit.
So, don't let me down, folks. You don't want the Padres fans at Gaslamp Ball laughing and pointing fingers at us becuase we didn't get any new commentors, do you? You don't want me and 'skins to have to spend our day setting up fake accounts to avoid that embarrassment, do you? The Dbacks nation needs YOU. Today. It's the first day of the rest of your online life...
