AZ SnakePit Fantasy Baseball: Week 3

Week 3 Results

AZ SnakePit 1, The Fighting Amish 7
Amish swept pitching, on their way to a convincing victory, piling up five wins and three saves behind Santana (W, 10 K). Renteria drove in nine, Johnson scored seven and Gomez stole four bags. Snake's sole point came in BA, though they tied on HR and RBI, with Atkins (2 HR, 6 RBI) their best player.

Douchebaggery 5, dbacktom 5

These two sides could not be separated, with Douche's edge at the plate countered by tom's on the mound. The latter got two wins each from Batista and Santana, plus a 3 HR, 10 RBI week by Thome. Douche saw Wagner post three saves, while DeRosa drove in eight and Youkilis batted .433, as the team overall hit .315.

Tucson Myth 5, Blonde Streaks 5

Chase Utley smacked *five* homers for Myth, giving them victory in HR and RBI, while Theriot's nine runs handed that point to Blonde. Neither team did well in pitching [ERAs of 5.33 and 5.49], but Blonde got nine K's from Westbrook. Jones had two saves for Myth, and the two teams ended with honors even.

7-2 Offsuiters 5, Wimboes Barmy Army 4

Truly a game of two halves. 7-2 swept hitting, behind Cabrera (7 R, 11 RBI) and Lee (3 HR, 8 RBI). But Wimboes roared back in pitching, with Jurgens (W + 13 K) anchoring their staff to a 1.19 WHIP and almost managing a sweep. However Wilson's two saves let 7-2 tie there, and gave them a slim edge.

Adriano Rosario's 3, Arizona Muugens 6
Pitching dominated here, with the two sides combining for only 5 HR and 37 RBI - Sexson had all Muugens' three HRs. Johnson had 13 K's for them, but no wins; despite a 10.13 ERA, Gagne still saved three games for Adriano, to give them their only pitching point, as Muugens broke the game open in the second-half.

Crazy VIII's 4, Desert Storm BC 4

Remarkably, VIII have eight tied categories in the first three weeks. This time it was runs and wins; despite a 1.87 ERA, they posted only one victory. Rodriguez saved four for them, but Storm got 14 K's from Harang and four homers from Chipper. Furcal stole three bases for VIII, and the two sides finished level.

Kapsaicin Kids 5, Desert Dingleberries 4

Kids managed one save, through Soria, but that was enough for overall victory. Greinke and Redding each had a W and 10 K's for Desert, but Wright drove in nine for Kids, to help them split the batting points evenly. Kids had the edge in pitching, with a 3.38 ERA and 1.15 WHIP, to take both categories.

Shenanigans 2.0 4, Ignatius J. Rallies 5
Shen took the first four points, behind NL Player of the Week Conor Jackson (10 R, 3 HR, 10 RBI), but that was it. After that, it was all Ignatius, as they staged a late rally [hohoho], behind Hernandez, who had a win and 8 K's. Neither team managed a save, but Ignatius's steal of BA by .002 proved decisive.

last place 9, GregSchulteOverdrive 1
last place no more! Only .006 of BA stood between them and a sweep of Schulte. Quentin's three homers powered them to ten in total, while Smoltz [W and 10 K's] was their star on the mound. Schulte struggled there, with one win, no saves and a WHIP of 1.73, though Ortiz had nine RBIs in a losing cause.

warlords 9, SHUperMen 1
The Game of the Week turned into a disaster for SHU, who are now 2-16-2 over the past two weeks. SB was their only point, as M.Ramirez [7 R, 4 HR, 8 RBI], powered war's offense. Pettitte had two wins and Papelbon three saves, war completing a clean-sweep of pitching. H.Ramirez was SHU's best player with 6 RBI and three stolen-bases, but could do little.

Douche (2-0-1) vs. Amish (3-0-0) is the game of the week, pitting two of the current top three teams against each other. Amish have only dropped six points thus far, with 1B Peña hitting six homers and Lincecum their ace on the mound, with a 1.57 ERA so far.
