With the Padres loss yesterday, we're now two games up, but have a chance to do well in this home-stand. The Pirates are twenty games below .500, and have lost six of their last eight, so taking at least two of three would seem possible. The team should be buoyed by the longterm signing of sparkplug Eric Byrnes, who has driven them offensively through the first two-thirds of the season. Be nice if Micah Owings could get his first win since June 20th too: in eight attempts since, he's gone 0-4, with a 6.49 ERA, though last time was probably his best outing since May.
Oh, in case you were wondering, I haven't totally forgotten about the Fantasy basebal report. Obviously, other things did take precedence this lunchtime! I've just got a few more capsule summaries to do, so am optimistic it should get posted later tonight. No, really! :-)
