AZ SnakePit Fantasy Baseball, Week 18

AZ SnakePit 0, Kapsaicin Kids 8 The loss of Sheets may have wrecked SnakePit irreperably, and they slumped to another big loss. Ties in RBI and Wins were their only success, though Berkman hit 3 HR. Johnson drove in seven for Kids, who also got four saves from Nathan, and nine K's from Escobar and Hernandez 1.0.

dbacktom 8, warlords 1 tom delivered a well-balanced performance, taking four points in both hitting and pitching; warlords took saves, and grabbed a tie in homers, with Guerrero's four for them, countering three by Abreu for tom. Lackey got tom two wins and ten K's, with Valverde notching a win, two saves and eight K's.

The Fighting Amish 6, Shenanigans 2 With four pitchers on the DL, Shen were always going to struggle, and Amish took full advantage. Perez posted a win and 11 K's, though Shen did still take K's, with eight from Capuano. But Amish pulled away, behind three HR and eight runs from Crawford, who also stole three bases.

4 K's 4 Gonzo 7, The Don Quixotes 3 This was close through hitting, with Gonzo holding only a one-point lead: Thomas (Gonzo) drove in seven, and Cabrera (Don) nine. However, Gonzo dominated pitching, with Haren (W, 9 K) and Accardo (three saves) being enough to overcome Hamels W and 13 K for Don.

Crazy VIII's 8, Douchebaggery 1 Douche's slump continued; they've lost five straight, going 7-37-6 in that time. Eight runs from Lee gave them their only point, but A-Rod and Young drove in six for VIII, while Peavy posted a win, ten K's and a zero ERA on the mound. Rollins stole three bases and Amish batted .310.

Bob Melvin Sucks 5, Chupacabras 4 In a low-scoring game, the one win posted by each side was enough to give Melvin the edge. Lee scored eight for them, and Sizemore (Chupa) had seven RBI, but no player on either side homered more than once. Carmona had nine K's for Melvin; Rodriguez two saves for Chupa.

BBTNG 5, Desert Dingleberries 4 Another close contest, with saves ending tied at two, and no category won by more than five. Desert batted .294, and took an early lead, but their pitching couldn't hold on, and BBTNG benefite from Dice-K's win and 10 K's. Dunn homered three times for them, while Wright scored seven for Desert.

Tucson Myth 6, GregSchulteOverdrive 4 Tucson swept the hitting categories, batting .347, with Atkins having 14 RBI. Their pitching...not so hot, with an ERA of 8.58. Cordero got their W and 2 saves, and that was enough for victory. Posada had 3 HR for Greg, while McGowan notched a W and 10 K's in a losing cause.

7-2 Offsuiters 5, Baked 4 The third game with the same score this week, homers ended tied at six each: Matsui (7-2) hit three. They won all the other hitting categories, and piled up five wins, but Baked took the remaining pitching points, falling just short. Kazmir was their ace, with a win, nine K's and a 1.29 ERA.

CoJack Forever 7, Webby17 1 In one of the most amazing pitching performances ever seen, CoJack piled up 73 strikeouts. Bedard had 17, as well as two wins, but five pitchers reaced double figures. Meanwhile, Zimmerman drove in 11 for them. Webby's point came in runs, where Ortiz scored seven to go with his 3 HR.

Kids are perhaps the hottest team around, with a five-week winning streak and a 35-9-6 record in that time. It's pitching that's got them there: closers Rivera and Nathan have thrown 23.2 innings combined in the last month, with a 0.70 ERA, and Hernandez 1.0, Lincecum and Escobar have also been outstanding of late. dbacktom have Pujols anchoring their offense, with 8 HR, 22 RBI and a .348 average this month, but Abrey, Ramirez and Ordonez all have driven in 20 or more.
