The Arizona Diamondbacks: bringing solace to bad pitchers everywhere. Today's lucky recipient of a start against the D-backs is Kyle Lohse, who got torn apart by the AL, allowing 18 runs in 17.2 innings of work, over three starts. He was much better against the Cardinals last start, and will be looking forward to facing the D-backs, even without Quentin furrowing his brow at the bottom of the lineup.

For, as noted in the diaries, Q was sent down to Triple-A today, to sort out his problems [mostly tied to poor pitch selection, with a side-order of mental anguish]. That sound you hear is Shawn Green sniggering gently in the New York distance. As Just Me pointed out though, what's going to happen to Carlos Quentin Bobblehead Night, at the end of the month? That's a lot of landfill... Waiver-wire pickup Jeff Salazar gets the call, but expect Byrnes to be the everyday RF.
