Can Hernandez 2.0 continue the fine string of recent performances by our pitching staff, and help extend our winning streak to four - with our staff ace up tomorrow, facing a pitcher who might be wearing a different kind of uniform before long. But that's probably getting ahead of ourselves, since Livan has won since May 27, going 0-4 with a 6.41 ERA in nine appearances since. In contrast, Mitre has posted quality starts in his last four outings, and is a bit of a control freak, with only four walks in those 26.2 innings.

As last night, the key issue is Hernandez not walking people - like Davis, he's winless when he has more than four bases on balls. However, Hernandez also needs to avoid the hits, since the opposition is batting .299 off him this season. And the home-runs too, as he's allowed one or more in each of the last ten starts - seventeen in total over that time, including fourteen in the past 40.1 innings. All told, this is a bit of a minefield, but it's about time Livan finally made a stand. A quality start from Hernandez, and the offense finally opens up: 7-3 to the D-backs.

Got some stuff to take care off, but should be watching the game, and hopefully be back in time for a few comments during the later innings...
